POISON

Dreary days and
endless nights, tormented
by man made dreams
and their schemes.

Smoky clubs on
Sunset Boulevard, needle
infested alleyways,
and little girls that pimps craves.

I long to rid myself of this self
imposed prison of degradation,
of suffering and needless pain
But if there is no effort there is no gain.

I have discovered that my
many friends are few.
The many used me to no end,
the few helped me to begin again.

Mother's Day has always
been my favorite day of the year.
I get the opportunity once again to give
praise to that which I hold so dear.

I am thankful that God saw in his
infinite wisdom to bring us together.
You have been patient through the
good times and stormy weather.

Through your eyes, I came to see
the true meaning of friendship and love.
It was because of the goodness of your heart,
that I was transformed into a Dove.

Even though Mother's Day comes once
a year by a calendar that is man made.
I know that you are a Mother all year long,
and that is why I give you praise.

THE RIGHT SIDE

I sense a longing for openness.
Tired of hiding from myself.
Retribution from my peers, have
no place in my life today. I refuse
to lose myself in the colorful display
of those who refuse to change their
racist rhetoric.

Those who works vigorously toward
the destruction of the world's  humanity,
should be stripped of their covering, to
reveal the true  nature  of their  being.
There are some blinded by their ignorance,
others blinded by their natural desire to hate.

There are those in the center, with no sense
of direction.  The reality of it all is , only
those who are on the right side will win.
I am willing to take my chances by being on
God's  side.  Are you?

PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

He was elected by a higher
source to travel this road less travelled,
with a true willingness to confront
the demons of centuries past.

He  picked up the banner of those who
have dedicated their lives that we might have
this great opportunity to share in the reality of
their dreams without regard for color or class.

He brought to the world a vision
of unity, equality and a united
America, which will serve as a beacon
for those that seek access to these shores.

He dreamed of a world that provides safety
without the threat of war, where there are no
longer the disenfranchised.  Where no one
will be denied the basic needs of life, where
there are no closed doors.

Let us celebrate the accomplishments of
this gifted man that I believe have been  ordained
by God.  This man that is fearless in his pursuits
of Peace, Prosperity, Equality and Justice for all.

This man that allows his spirit to soar, holds his
head high in the darkest hours.  This man that
keeps his hands in God's hands. This man that
clearly understood  his mission.  This man
that refuses to fall.

Today let us continue to support and celebrate
this man, the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
OF AMERICA.

The Right Mindset

With the right mindset,
the impossible  becomes possible.
The inescapable become freedom.
Your enemies can become your friends.

The rivers you could not cross become streams.
The mountains you could not climb, becomes molehills.
Every aspect of your voice becomes a melody.
Every note could be a perfect pitch.

All that was hidden in your mind,
becomes visible in your heart.
Figments of your imagination becomes
the staircase to your dreams.

All that you saw in your distant future,
because of your mindset, presented
itself in your present state.

The right mindset removes the scales
from your eyes, that you may see clearly.
Happiness is a right for oneself,
but requires the right mindset when
it becomes a partnership.

Take seriously the thoughts that you allow
to enter your secret place.
Your thought process is the energy that
motivates and creates your mindset.

The Protection of Shadows

I envelop the shadows because
in the shadows I am free.
I am able to become an illusion
to those that seek to harm me.

They travel by day light believing
that it serves as a visual aid.
They know nothing of the secrets
of the shadows of age.

I caresss the shadows because
the shadows are my hiding place.
The shadows are not void of substance,
 but full of mercy and grace.

In the shadows I exist without fear
from those who seek my secret place.
I watch as they move with no direction
as one by one they fall from grace.

My weapon of choice is to move unseen
that is the weapon that  the shadow provides me.
This gift was handed down from mother to son.
This gift insures me that I will always be protected and free.

I find you so special in every way,
I learn something special and
exciting about you each passing day.

I have watched you over come pain and
sadness, I have witnessed your tears.  I have
watch you grow all thru the years.

I have tried to be strong for you in
my weakest hour.
I have tried to nurture you as a
gardner would his flowers.

I  have always seen in you a pure heart
and the uncanny ability to carry on the fight.
Even when things seemed wrong,
they always turned out right.

I have always admired the greatness of
your stature and the strength of your
convictions.  How you rely on past
experiences and your intuition.
