Christmas With You

TO MY WIFE ON CHRISTMAS DAY

Many years have passed, forty five years to be exact,
that we as husband and wife have shared the pleasure
and pain of  growing, loving and caring.

with each passing day, as it grew into weeks, months
and years, we grew in wisdom that held us together
as we shared the joy and burden of tears.

I am so grateful that we were patient with each other
as we sometimes stumbled as we struggled to find
our way as we moved toward our destiny.

Unconditional love and respect for each other were
the gifts received.  On this Christmas Day I asked
only for the same gifts that we have shared these
forty years, the gifts, of love, respect and
honesty.

It is my wish that we may always address any of
life's issues with an understanding heart.  And remember
that when the storms comes, we have each other and
prayer.

The final lesson we have learned from these forty five  years,
is not how many gifts we give from outside of ourselves,.
but the gifts that we give from within ourselves.

Merry Christmas to my wife, Elvira
You are the love of my life.
